If You Didnt Get Loot From a Raid Boss Can You Kill Him Again
Raid timers are the technique implemented by Blizzard to forbid members of large guilds from visiting high-finish instances over and over to repeatedly farm bosses in a short menses of time. Despite the proper name, a similar system likewise affects heroic dungeons.
Players re-entering an instance will find that bosses killed in previous visits to the same example stay killed until the timer resets. The other implication is that the players associated with the example take a time limit in which to complete their activities before the instance is reset. This fourth dimension tin be extended (from patch 3.2.0) with the Example Lock Extension feature.
Raid timers (or Raid IDs) are the system used to save yous to a raid instance. To see which raids and boss encounters you are currently saved to, you can blazon "/raidinfo".

- Yous can kill a boss as many times per week as y'all like, but only boodle it one time per difficulty.
- Anyone tin can join anyone's case.
- Bosses are never locked to y'all, and y'all can always go back and kill them afterwards even if you've skipped them by joining a group that had progressed further.
- Raid sizes can be anywhere from ten to 30 players, and difficulty automatically scales to match.
Flexible Boss-based Lockout
Used for: Normal difficulty raids from Wrath of the Lich King through Throne of Thunder.
- You can just impale a boss one time per week, and you may not enter an instance where a boss is alive that you take already defeated that calendar week.
- Yous tin motility from grouping to group during a calendar week as long equally y'all're joining instances that don't have bosses alive yous've already killed.
- If you enter an case that is more progressed than your ain and get saved to it, yous will be locked to all prior bosses.

- Progress is tied to a fixed case ID. One time tied to an example ID, yous may not enter any other versions of that raid of that difficulty until your raid lock resets.
- If other players consummate that instance while you are absent, the instance will be empty for you as well, because progress is tied to the case, and not your grapheme.
