Publishing authoritative blog posts is an important part of your content marketing strategy, but also a time-consuming one. Use Cronycle for your content curation on Hubspot blog: collect, contextualize and share insights from boards to Hubspot via RSS. Hubspot recently released an update to their integration with Zapier, making it possible to create new posts. This is a smart strategy to publish a greater amount of valuable content with relevant commentary, in less time.

Using RSS, you can share content along with your custom summaries and annotations. As indicated, your RSS feeds are generated from content that has been saved to your Cronycle boards. Sharing and publishing insights from any board is practically seamless with Cronycle's built-in collaboration features and dedicated integrations. RSS feeds created from boards

As you probably know, RSS is a standard and nearly universal way to share information. With Cronycle, you can create an RSS feed for every board with saved content. Your Cronycle RSS feed will include every saved article, video, tweet, and Twitter conversation, as well as summaries and titles you added to the board. (Note: notes and uploaded files on your boards cannot be sent via RSS because they are not associated with a URL.)

An RSS feed from Cronycle can be used to push your content curation into a variety of applications and channels – including Hubspot. You can read instructions about creating RSS feeds from boards in this tutorial. Note: a Pro or Enterprise account is required to publish to RSS feeds.

Now let's look at how to create an RSS feed from any Cronycle board.

How to set an RSS feed from any board

From the board you wish to share as an RSS feed, click on the Publish button near the top right. You'll see a dropdown with several options for ways to publish.

Click on RSS Feed, and then click on Set up Publishing to RSS to start the setup wizard.

Step 1 – Set content to publish

You have two options for specifying when content will be sent to the RSS feed:

• Option 1 – Send once content is editor approved (default). We recommend this option because it lets you review and enrich your content before it is published. By choosing this option, you can ensure that you send exactly the content you intend, when you intend to send it. You can also ensure that content isn't sent until desired summaries and notes are added.

• Option 2 – Send as soon as content is saved on board. If you choose this option, each time you save a piece of content to the board, it will be sent immediately and automatically to the RSS feed. While automation and timeliness are benefits, keep in mind that there is a greater likelihood you could miss including summaries and tags. Please keep in mind that while the RSS feeds are continuously updated, RSS readers on the other hand, do not fetch new content automatically, so if you add a summary or tag later on, those additions will not be included with content that was sent earlier.

Step 2 – Set order of content

Next, set the order in which you want content to be sent:

• Option 1 – By date pinned to your board (default)
• Option 2 – By date originally published

Note that regardless of which option you choose, content in the RSS feed will be listed chronologically with the newest content always listed first.

Step 3 – Don't protect access with password

At this time, Hubspot does not support password protection for RSS, so you must select: No.

Step 4 – Review & confirm

Review your selections, and if you are satisfied with the setup, click Start publishing. You'll see a confirmation message and the URL of your RSS feed will be displayed. Success!

At this point, you will want to copy and save the RSS URL. Remember that each board receives a unique RSS URL. It can take up to five minutes for new content to appear in the RSS feed (and longer if you use an RSS reader), so be patient, and consider testing the URL link in Chrome or Edge first to ensure content is appearing in the feed.

With the RSS URL of your board, you are now ready to use your content curation to set up automated blog posts in HubSpot. Here's how you do it.

Creating automated blog posts in HubSpot using your Cronycle RSS feed URL

The instructions for using your Cronycle RSS feed to create automated posts in HubSpot are simple. To import content into Hubspot via RSS, Hubspot requires that you have a paid account and have already set up a blog template. From there, follow these steps:

• In your HubSpot account, navigate to Marketing > Files and Templates > Design Tools.
• In the finder on the left, click the name of the template.

• In the inspector on the right sidebar menu, click + Add.
• Enter RSS listing in the search bar. Drag the RSS Listing module from the result over your template, and drop it into position.

• Click the module on your template. In the right sidebar menu, scroll to the Default Content section.

• In the RSS module header field, enter the text that will appear above your RSS feed.
• In the Add an RSS Feed section, select Use an external RSS feed and enter the feed's URL in the RSS URL field.
• To change the number of posts displayed, click the Maximum number of posts to display field and enter a number. By default, the RSS Listing module will display five posts.
• Configure the feed's author, summary, and publish date options. Clear the Show author name/summary/publish date checkbox(es) to hide that information. Make sure to keep the checkbox Show summary ticked so the summaries you add in Cronycle appear in the posts. You should also increase the summary length limit to 1,000 characters, the same as on your boards. This will ensure your summaries are not truncated.
• Click Publish changes to set your changes live for this template.
