How to Draw Thanksgiving Pictures: Scarecrow, Turkeys & Pilgrims.
I teach direct drawing art lessons in a unique and specific way that is actually fun for kids and teachers! I'll guide you through everything yous need to know – don't worry if you don't know how to draw, the kids will dear this. This how-to-depict Thanksgiving resource volition make your students very happy. They will become to practice so many skills like fine motor evolution, mitt-eye coordination, sequencing, and direction following, to proper noun a few. How to teach drawing the fun way:Every bit an art teacher who does this frequently, I have this down to a scientific discipline. I use my SmartBoard (or whiteboard), and as I describe something on the board, I say what I am doing in a bit of a "singing" voice. So students repeat after me. While they are saying it, they are doing it. Then they wait while I bear witness (and sing) the next step, then they practice the next step. They depict and sing just like me.
We go very slowly, step-by-step, until the entire image is drawn. I unremarkably but give the bones shapes of a drawing and allow the students work on the details and background at the finish. You will demand to remind them that you lot'll exist giving them plenty of time to work on details, and so they don't have over the lesson and dull down the group.
Let me demonstrate what I say and practise with my students for these Thanksgiving sheets:
Instructor: "For step #1, we are going to draw the chapeau of the turkey. Starting in the eye of your page, depict a square." (Testify students on the lath how to depict the square part of the hat and say "draw a square," (in a funny or singing vox). I'yard a terrible singer, so don't let that scare you. Just make it fun (or funny) for the kids, and they will LOVE it!
Students: "Draw a square" (singing voice-kids are excellent at mimicking how y'all sang the instructions…and they don't talk and disrupt because they are too busy singing and cartoon)
Teacher: "Describe the bottom of a triangle" (singing vocalism)
Students: "Draw the lesser of the triangle" (singing voice)
Repeat this blueprint until y'all get to the end of the cartoon. Tell students if they make a mistake to keep going (no erasing yet) and that at the terminate, they will have time to fix whatever mistakes that they brand. The more fun you have with this (singing silly), the more than fun they volition have!

How to Describe Thanksgiving Pictures: Steps
1. Print out the handouts from the complimentary download below and have your students follow along as you show them, step-by-stride, how to create their pictures. Or make copies of the handouts and let your students employ them to effigy out how to describe the Thanksgiving images all by themselves (I like to laminate my drawing sheets to preserve them). You lot can choose any size of paper y'all'd like. The student should use pencils so that making corrections is easier.
2. After students have drawn their pictures, have them go over their pencil lines with black markers. Make sure to use a permanent marking if you are going to use watercolor paints.
Then they can color them in many different ways using crayons, colored pencils, or different types of paint. Here is an instance of the scarecrow colored with watercolor paint.
In the full resources, I have also included i of the turkey designs colored with crayons. You can use any materials you are comfy with (or have on hand)–colored pencils, markers, crayons, pigment, etc.
Encourage your students to use their imaginations–the turkey doesn't "have" to be real colors, does it? Students should use their imaginations to create a background and fill the entire paper with colour, so the finished product should have no white paper showing. In the resource, I included an instance I made that you lot can projection on your whiteboard or print, so you don't have to make your ain example (although I highly encourage y'all to take some fun likewise!).
3. For each design, I have included a full sheet (8.5" x 11") of 6 easy steps showing how to draw 5 different designs. I have also included a full sail example of each blueprint (on 8.5" x eleven" newspaper), which y'all could use as a coloring canvass if y'all didn't desire to practice the "6 Piece of cake Steps" lesson. These full-page sheets also make great coloring pages when kids finish early or at other times.
I have included as much as possible in hopes that I would save you as much work as possible. Print the scarecrow in color and show your students how cute their terminal work can look!
